Brick Masons Laying Block

Here the masons are blocking up the fundation "stem-wall". The blocks below grade are standard, unfinished to save money. The blocks which will be visible above ground level are "split-face" to give a stone texture to the foundation. Long-term, the split face blocks will never need paint. 9/28/05
