"Kanapaha Presbyterian Church- Rooted in History and Relevant for Today" by Kendal Norris, The Village Journal, August 15, 2016

Among the most steadfast historical landmarks of Alachua County, Florida, stands Kanapaha Presbyterian Church.  This wood frame gothic church, located in a field along Archer Road at SW 75th Street, is recognized as the "mother church" for Presbyterian churches in Gainesville, Archer, Micanopy, McIntosh, and Ocala.

God has provided for us a delightfully peaceful environment on the outskirts of Gainesville. Our hope is to provide you with an atmosphere of welcome, acceptance and affirmation that enables each to explore and develop their own relationship with God in Jesus Christ.

To this day, we celebrate worship in the Sanctuary which was built in 1886, still adorned with the original pews, stained glass windows, kerosene chandelier, and church bell whose peal calls us away from a spinning world to rejoice in the word of God, to sing long-cherished hymns, and to nurture our spirit through good fellowship.
