The Willie Somers Fund was founded in memory of
William Edward Somers
The Willie Somers Summer Camp Fund was established at Kanapaha Presbyterian Church in 1998 to provide scholarships for our children to attend church camp. It is funded annually.
Willie Somers led an active life for his eleven short years. He played three seasons of youth soccer as a goalie, he played the trumpet, and sang in the youth choir at Christ Presbyterian Church in Largo, Florida, where he attended from 3 months old until his death.
His spiritual growth was accomplished through scripture reading at Special Services as well as Church Camp at Cedar Kirk. It is because of his positive experience at Church Camp that we feel so strongly about making funds available for our church families' children to attend. Teddy Rancourt |
